Debra Anderson PLS, Owner

Debi is the Owner and founding partner of Gateway Engineering and Surveying, Inc.  Debi is a principal licensed surveyor with over 20 years experience in boundary and topographic surveying.  She provides specialized knowledge on land use and subdivision design.  Debi has served as President for Montana Association of Registered Land Surveyors and on the Board of Directors for more than ten years.  She is currently the Governor of Montana for the National Society of Professional Surveyors.

Lewis Burton PE, Civil Engineer


Lewis is a principal licensed engineer with over 35 years experience in general civil engineering and specializes in water resource engineering. Work has encompassed a wide variety of projects including land subdivision, commercial development, dams, stream channel rehabilitation, pipelines, irrigation systems, and structures.

Katey Plymesser PE, LEED AP

Katey is a licensed engineer with over 5 years experience in general civil engineering applications.  Katey's primary experience is with designing and managing residential and commercial land development projects.  Her work has included centralized wastewater treatment plant design, water and wastewater system design, storm water management, and erosion/sediment control.  Katey is also certified by the Green Building Certification Institute as a LEED Accredited Professional.

Sean Mcfarland PLS, EI


Sean is a licensed surveyor with over 8 years experience in topographic mapping, land development, property surveys, wetland mapping, and construction inspection and staking.  Sean has been active in project preparation, fieldwork, data management, research, and analysis.  In addition to his surveying experience, Sean has a background in civil engineering with a Bachelor of Science in Construction Engineering from Montana State University.

Ron Schwend Project Manager



Ron is a project manager with experience in road design and construction, pond design and construction, environmental assessment, wetland design and construction, fluvial geomorphology, bank stabilization, irrigation structures, and irrigation conveyance systems.  Ron manages all levels of planning, construction, and design of engineering projects with an emphasis on field implementation and construction oversight.
